picnic at the lake

P1050461.JPG We had such a great afternoon at Dixion Lake; feeding the ducks, playing soccer, playing tag, talking and picnicing. Danny managed to get soaking wet from jumping on rocks in the water & wading at the shore. I was so happy to have brought a back up pair of pants for him. We hadn’t been in the car on the way back home for more than 2 mins when he said, “That was so much fun, lets go back to the lake again, right now!”

Carly’s English teacher

“Mommy, I learned Carly a new word today.”

“That’s great, Danny, which word did you teach her?”

“I teached her how to say bow wow wow - like a dog.”

Yes! It’s true “bow wow wow” is officially Carly’s second word. Her first being mama, which I am very proud about.

Danny first word was “stuck”, which came in handy with his constant exploring. We would hear it from all over the house, under our bed, behind a sofa…”stuck, stuck”. His second word was “dada”, he didn’t say “mama” till months later.

While reviewing Bible verses with Danny this morning he asked about one of the illustrations of someone giving money to beggar. I explained, “He needs help because he’s poor, look he even has a hole in his shoe.” Danny looked down at his crocs and said, “Oh Mommy look, I’m poor too because I have so many holes in my shoes.”

While cleaning the bathroom I overheard Danny playing…

“Noah, Noah, get in the ark right now”

“Did you hear me Noah?” “Get in the ark right now”

“But God, I’m trying to get all the animals, I just need a 5 more minutes”

…why does that conversation sound so familar?

another summer afternoon…

at the Wild Animal Park! This time Danny didn’t ask for his usual “meerkats, gorrila and lions”, instead he said he wanted to pet the deer. They have a little petting area and the kids can play with and pet about 15 deer of different sizes and types. He really does love animals and made sure that he didn’t leave any out as he went around to each one petting, hugging and talking to them.
