Circus is in town!

Categories: Life is Good! | July 29th, 2007 | by admin | no comments

We went in the morning and found out they only had evening shows but the kids spent an hour watching the lamas, elephants, monkeys, zebra’s, hippos and horses all in one big tent. It was a great circus, very kid friendly, with lots of animals and only $5. It was Danny & Carly’s first circus. When we asked Danny which was his favorite act he said, “I liked everything, I liked all the animals and all the humans too. But I didn’t like the dancing girls.” Oh well, I guess it will be a couple years before he appreciates girls in leopard print leotards dancing and swinging from the ceiling. They had an impressive elephant show during which one elephant danced to reggaeton while balancing with one foot on a stool. They also invited all the kids up to get hippo rides in the middle of the circus. Danny even got to meet & hug one of the clowns.IMG_5379.JPG

Every story should have a baby

Categories: Life is Good! | July 29th, 2007 | by admin | no comments

Or so Carly thinks. We got her the Baby Moses & Baby Jesus flannelgraphs and she loves them. She will do them over and over again and wants to sing all the songs that go with the story. So we figured she was having so much fun we should get some more so we got her Noah’s Ark. She took one look at it and said, “Mama, no baby?” She couldn’t believe it had no baby and pointed out that Noah’s wife had no baby and nothing to do. She solved this by giving Noah and his wife “turns” with the hammer.

one thing

Categories: Danny Sez... | July 11th, 2007 | by admin | no comments

Danny’s mind goes a mile a minute and sometimes, actually most of the time I don’t keep up. “Mom, let’s do an art project, oh I know, I know we can paint a huge mural. And Mom, let’s make cookies, no, I heard it’s Rina’s birthday soon, let’s bake her a cake and mail it to her. And Mom, Carly’s crying for her sippy cup because she threw it in the toilet, and Mom, can we run down to the corner store and buy Japanese peanuts, Mom can you show me what this word says in my Dr. Seuss book and Mom, is it true that elephants can’t pick their noses cause that’s what Kyle told me.”

So many times I end up telling him, “Danny, one thing, Mom can do one thing at a time.”

Yesterday he told me, “Mom, my ball rolled under the bed and I can’t reach it, this is really important, this is your one thing!”
