February is Museum Month in San Diego with all 32 museums 50% off. I found out in the last week of February but now that I know we’ll definitely plan more for February next year which will be perfect as they’ll be 4 & 3 and able to understand even more. In the meantime many of them aren’t even that expensive.
We did go to the Birch Aquarium and the kids just loved it. It’s very well done. Some of the exhibits were over their head but they loved the shark feeding and hands on tide pools full of sea stars and urchins and the deep sea diver show. It’s 30 minutes long and a diver in a huge tank full of a variety of fish and sharks teaches the kids about them. He has a mic on and we could hear him over the loud speakers. Danny was especially fascinated and sat real still with wide eyes the whole show. There was also a question and answer period at the end. It’s a fun excursion for a rainy Saturday as most of it is indoors.
I’ve been having some technical difficulties with this site and have been unable to upload any photos. Once this is fixed I have lots of photos from Jan-March to post.

Every day is a dress day for Carly, meaning that she will cry if she has to wear anything but dresses and occasionally she will consent to a very twirly skirt. But that’s not all. Once she has gotten dressed in her dress of choice she must receive approving comments about her choice. She especially enjoys getting these from her brother and he is usually the first person she goes to for an opinion on her outfit. Danny indulges her with lots of compliments.

That’s the most beautiful dress I’ve ever seen.
And today’s was especially sweet…

Danny ran up to me the other day, “Mom, can you draw a picture of a Great White shark for me to color?”
Sure, honey.
But, Mom, make sure to keep your eyes closed while you are drawing it because it’s supposed to be a surprize for you.
