We just had a wonderfully full weekend. It started Saturday morning with a local benefit event that we got to participate in. The kids were very excited about their role of passing out childrens books and greeting people.
Then Saturday evening Bella, Sailor’s (our puppy) best friend and playmate got hit by a car. Danny insisted on accompanying her to the vet so we could find out what was wrong. Please do pray for Bella as she broke her leg and had surgery this morning to put in a screw. Danny was at the vet’s till 10pm and came home explaining all about the x-ray and the diagnosis.
Then the next morning we all woke up early to make it to a race that a some friends of ours had organized. They did such a great job. There were T-shirts they made, numbers to wear, police escort through the city, great music and fresh fruit for all the runners afterward.
Carly was determined to run ever since she heard about it, of course it spurs her on even more when Danny tells her that something isn’t for her age. The youngest category was 4-5 yr olds but they let her & several other 3 yr olds in and she was so delighted. It was only 100 meters but she waited at the starting line and ran it all by herself and she was so proud of herself. Tom, Nyna & Christie all ran too and we’re almost as proud of them.
We topped it off with a picnic at the winery. The grapes were ripe and delicious and the kids had so much fun picking and eating them straight off the vines.
Danny & Carly love each other to bits but like all brothers and sisters they have their “moments”. Yesterday during a “moment” I overheard Carly putting her foot down.
“Danny, me not like you teasing me, me not like you taking my dollies and me not like green eggs & ham.”
